Africa, an introduction
Does Africa really need an introduction ? Africa is simply the introduction of all subjects. Africa, the motherland and the cradle of humankind. Strong with its exceptional fertile ground, and its natural and cultural resources. Powerful with spectacular wildlife and dramatic landscapes, Africa gives life to big dreams, exciting adventures and stimulant second chances.
It is a truism to say that Africa is a rich continent. With 30.3 million km², 55 internationally recognized countries, more than 2000 languages and around 3000 distinct ethnic groups...the old continent is a tapestry of cultural diversity and a standing example of humongous natural richness, and human wealth that Africans must be proud of.
Africa has hosted many of the world's greatest civilizations that gave an affluent legacy of ancient monuments, pyramids, tombs and temples...etc. Some of the history of the world's best chapters were written at the very heart of the continent, such as : ancient Egypt, ancient Carthage, Ethiopian empire...etc.
As for the landscape, no matter how varied it is and how the topography is strange, it maintains a bewildering symmetry all over. It is a series of stable, ancient plateau surfaces that are low in the north and west and go higher in the south and east. Highlands or lowlands, deserts or savannas, coastal plains or emerging lakes...Africa has it all.
Africa is simply too beautiful, too raw and especially too mysterious to sum it up in an article. This unearthly, other-worldly land overflows with wonders and marvels that are yet to be explored. Africa is an open invitation, "traveling is learning" as a Kenyan proverb says. So, take a sit, and enjoy the journey !
